Hello everyone i hope you are all having a great spring and are looking forward to the summer months. This is just a quick piece of information for all of you.I was tonight contacted by a London based television company looking to make a Nationwide programme about professional bakeries ,cafes ,outlets etc to film for a new programme. Their definition was again different to the SAMB and the SHBAs in as much as they assume Professional is somebody who makes a living from Baking !!To this end some or all of you may be contacted by this company to see if you are interested in contributing to their programme. I have no control over this as your contact details are on this site, but anybody unhappy by a third party using this information for something other than the SHBAs use then please contact me immediately and i will remove any details you wish. Hello again and just a quick update on this weeks trips through the Kingdom of Fife and Dundee. A whole 5 days turned out to be a bit disappointing and i know there is fabulous places out there in Fife so when we came across Jessies kitchen it was a god send . You must keep the nominations for your area coming in otherwise it looks like you have no great Homebaking and i know you do. Off down to the borders next month so keep in contact .

Hello again and welcome to spring 2012 in Bonny Scotland. Just a very quick update following on from last post. It has come to my attention that the Scottish Bakers competition being held this year and compered by Paul Hollywood is actually focusing on its own members to vote for their best baker and not a country wide award scheme looking for the countrys best baker!! With this in mind i will not be accepting the position to judge the cake category. I would prefer to judge a true representation of the countrys best bakers . Well back to the baking pilot - all this filming is not my thing i would rather be in the kitchen but recognition this will bring-" so for the cause" i must be patient !!!!

Hello everyone just a quick update .A very successful meeting yesterday with Alan Clarke Chief executive of the newly named Scottish Bakers (Previously known as SAMB). This year they are holding their first best baker of the year award and have asked me to judge the small cake section.Paul Hollywood will be the compere for this evening so high profile. I have a lot to think about as the TV pilot is quite tiring and behind schedule .I also will be around the country more this year as nominations are flying in. Great news for the SHBA. Thank you all for your support as we wouldnt have made it this far without you. Will keep you updated soon.

Hello everyone and many thanks for all your kind wishes over the festive period. The SHBA have been busy in the background building up the scheme and promoting it as a credible award. We have been filming our very own pilot TV show which is taking longer than expected due to extreme weather at the end of last year and start of 2012. I have also been in talks with Alan Clarke MD of the NAMB ( National Association of Master Bakers) and will be meeting in early February with a view in working together . So folks its all go !! Please keep the nominations coming in and heres to another successful year at the SHBA.
