Today was a typical dreech day for a drive through beautiful Dumfries and Galloway countryside . On arrival to Barstobrick you are transported into an equestrian heaven. On entering the bright and airy farmtype building the smell of homecooking beckons you in. My long suffering driver and husband had a beautiful lunch here with all the meat coming from the family run farm . We were then kindly offered a platter of mouthwatering homebaking. I must say the display is not by any means huge but every bit of cake sampled was excellent.I have to say the paradise slice was the best i have ever tasted . the coffee sponge was the lightest and freshest and the malteser slice was heaven. An excellent baker this centre has in Julie and long may you continue to provide this level of expertise. Well done Julie and the team at Barstobrick visitor Centre.
