Gourock is a town falling within the Inverclyde council area and formerly forming a burgh of the historic county of Renfrewshire in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. It has in the past functioned as a seaside resort on the Firth of Clyde. Its principal function today, however, is as a popular residential area, extending contiguously from Greenock, with a railway terminus and ferry services across the Clyde.

This fabulous Garden centre is not just for visiting for a few hours . You will need the day .From the moment you walk in you are very aware that this centre is very special. It has all the usual garden centre attractions plus a lot more. The views alone over Lunderston bay are beautiful near Gourock. Owner Eric Gallagher has built up this garden centre from scratch in the 1960s to an award winning tourist attraction in the west coast of Scotland today. We are nominating Cardwell for the sheer luxury of excellent food in such a large and busy Garden centre- unusual today. The lunch menu is excellent as is the sheer range of the baking .Not all the cakes are homemade but the ones that are are excellent. The staff here make this garden centre and restuarant an even more enjoyable place to be . Nominated and Awarded on site for unrivalled staff, food , atmosphere ,individual shops and a garden centre with everything you could possibly imagine - Well done Cardwell!!
