Chantilly Lace Tearoom
Chantilly Lace Tearoom was nominated online today.

Today was a lovely day for a drive through Loch Lomond and into Alexandria .Chantilly Lace was the first of my stops today and i arrived just in time to join the owner Eileen at her well earned lunch.Chantilly Lace snuggles in between many shops in Alexandrias main Street and is a refreshing change into the "Olde Worlde " charm of the early Victorian era.Bone china teacups and crockery adorn the tables and beautiful swaying lace on the walls, windows and tables. The afternoon tea is served on the traditional 3 Tiered plates and well priced. I was offered quite a selection of samples including a most unusual Coca cola and Chocolate cake -very good. I also tasted some Homebaking from Eileens daughter as she now has learned to bake from her mum . The iced gingerbread bun was one of the best i have ever tasted. This intrepid duo have created a lovely refreshing change to the surroundings in which they lie and i for one will be back .

Kittys tearoom
Kittys Tearoom is in New Galloway outside Castle Douglas . This beautiful Victorian house dates back to 1840 and the inside is like stepping back in time( in a good way). Beautiful crockery and old fashioned charm set amidst beautiful countryside. When we arrived Kittys was full to the limits and we were unable to assess the homebaking on offer. Kittys closes for the winter and re-opens at easter and therefore a welcome return will be necessary to assess this premises properly.

Oakwood Garden Centre
This lovely garden centre was found out of the blue today whilst sampling delights in the Drymen area .Such a nice day for a drive that i continued down to Killearn and stumbled across this very new Garden Centre and eatery. The gifts were excellent value, unusual and easy to browse . The coffee shop was a wait to be seated affair and we were seated immediately with no fuss. The cakes are largely made on the premises by Nancy and excellent sponges were her speciality.I went for the Coffee and Walnut and my friend the caramel and apple slice.Heaven on a plate -honestly. A bright and airy eating place with Homebaking that is worthy of our SHBA.Well done
